On Food: Our school lunch is just like every other school lunch in the NYC public school system. There is some salads but after that, there is no other option for vegan/vegetarian students except to bring their own lunch.

On Resources & Facilities: My school offers so many resources for students that it is pretty hard to fail a class. Teachers are always there from the end of school to about 5 in the evening to help students if they need extra help. There is also peer tutoring if teachers are not available. There is a college office that holds events for students to help understand the college process including scholarships, SAT/ACT/PSAT, and choosing a college. The guidance counselor help change schedule, solve problems and just there to talk to the students if need be. Everyday, emails are sent to parents updating them on school events and how to access students grades.

On Health & Safety: The school's health policy and safety police are very strict. Students are not allowed to possess weapons or drugs and can and usually are promptly taken care of in the means of either calling the police, contacting parents and other standard procedures. If there is a health problem of sort that the school nurse can not deal with, the hospital and parents are promptly notified. Health Class is a required class and teachers are required to not only teach the standard curriculum but to also teach about violence, what causes it, how to prevent it etc.

On Extracurriculars: At my school there are many recreational, academic, athletic and musical clubs that a student can join. I am apart of NSBE, the National Society of Black Engineers. They also have soccer, football, musicals, NHS, and other clubs. Students and teachers at my school can also create clubs. So there is something for everyone.

On Administration & Policies: My school staff is great, however there are a few bad teachers but majority of the teachers I had, were all very good except for two. However, I feel that some of the school policies are slightly bias, especially the school dress code. I find that if there is a double standard in a way what the students can wear and I believe it is due to race. For example, I had a friend who told me that she and an Asian girl were wearing the same outfit: A skater skirt with a black tank top and blazer. The skirt was a little on the shirt side. They let the Asian girl through but stopped my friend and made her change. My friend figured it was because she was African-American why they made her change and as she said "Had more things to show than the Asian girl". After that I find the school policies to be fair and enforced.
