My time at Buckhorn has been mostly positive, however, I do wish they better informed students on eligible classes and discussed the best classes for students. For the most part, selecting the class one would like to take is an easy process, but some have had issues surrounding getting out of one class to pursue one they feel is better suited for them. Although these issues may arise, all of my teachers have been nothing but helpful with helping me figure out my classes, and helping me however they can. Aside from academic, I have done band all four years attending Buckhorn High School and have really enjoyed it! The music program is growing with each year and is in desperate need of funding to help advance upgrades needed to hold all upcoming musicians.
Buckhorn High School has been a great place for learning and development within our community. It focuses on the safety and knowledge of its students, and provides many opportunities for growth. Some of my favorite parts of Buckhorn would be its involvement in extracurricular activities. For example, one extracurricular that I'm involved in is HOSA, which is an organization for students who are planning to be future health professionals.
I would say my overall experience at Buckhorn High School is positive for the most part. Of course there are challenges in high school with navigating where you fit in. You lose friends and make new friends as well as new memories. Each experience whether it be negative or positive, does help prepare you for the future. I know one day I will miss this because you can't really go back.
