On Health & Safety: Tyson is overall a very safe school. None of the students are of the mindset to actively harm on another and teasing is more often than not stopped before anyone's feelings are hurt. The school nurse does as she is qualified to do however that isn't very much and this gains resentment from some of the students. However she does do all she can and minor injuries and such are taken care of. The school is a very open place with many people and groups intermingling.

On Overall Experience: Overall my experience at Cicely Tyson hasn't been ideal however no school is. If I were to change anything about it it would be the overall respect awarded to one another, the variety of clubs to join, and the surrounding neighborhood. All though Tyson has been wonderful in a great many other aspects. It has a wonderful teaching staff that are very dedicated to their job.

On Administration & Policies: The school administration does an excellent job. A school dress code is enforced and we have a zero tolerance for bullying. Attendance although an issue of the past is dealt with very justly and has been on a steady decline from it's past problems of tardiness and class cutting.

On Extracurriculars: Extracurricular activities at this school are not very prominent. This is because it is a preforming and fine art school. This means that clubs not associated with theater are very few. Theater takes up most of the students time and there for our school doesn't have many implemented. The school has a debate team, newspaper club, art club, animation club, community service club, marching band as well as national honor society and L.E.A.D. This however is not very much and many are not available to participate in the clubs because of their obligations toward the musical and dance recitals and other thing of that nature. We are severely lacking in variety.

On Sports & Fitness: In order to play sports, you have to go to another school called Campus High School. There are not any athletic facilities at Cicely Tyson.
