Clarke Central High School Reviews
Rating 3.64 out of 5 244 reviews
My overall experience is generally negative for the most part. We are constantly being held in Adminastrative Holds, which are soft lock downs, because of drug overdoses and fights. Drugs are tangled within our school, and admin is not doing near anything to fix the issue. Fights are constantly happening, and it's getting to the point to where teachers are not even trying to break up fights. Students don't feel safe at this school, and they don't feel properly represented. Things need to be fixed at this school, but there are some teachers who go above and beyond to make sure we feel fulfilled.
Clarke Central High School's athletics program has been on a downfall for the past 20 years. Coaches are actively sucking player's love for a sport. The safety of the school is sub-par, in the past 3 years I've experienced multiple active shooter lockdowns, one of which students were in a class with the person carrying a firearm. The school has made some attempts to raise their safety during after school events by requiring see-through plastic bags, and metal detectors at the entrance. The cafeteria food is borderline inedible, with some of the fruits being served to students frozen. Clarke Central is not an extraordinary high school, students and some faculty are working to make it a more inclusive and fun environment for all.
When I first joined the school my first impression was how different everything was. The interior, the people, and the mannerisms were all entirely new. So far, I really enjoy the school and I think everyone really values their education. Some downsides include how sometimes you’ll meet people that just don’t flow the way you do and also how clean everything really is. Upsides include how diverse and respectful almost everyone is. Also, they provide a lot of different resources for you and try to ensure your success. I think Clarke Central in good as is but something that I would like to see change is their restroom policy. I am unsure if it’s just me but it’s just not great I’m my opinion.
