On Overall Experience: The social scene at IB is practically nonexistent. The fact of the matter is there is just simply too much work to do. The school can honestly be very miserable at times. But again, its worth it once your done and you've learned so much.

On Teachers: The teaching quality varies from department to department, but generally the teachers are great. The teachers are very engaged and know the students well so its great for the kids.

On Educational Outcomes: The IB academy is a real pain. But once you're finished, the outcomes are amazing. I'm currently in college and I feel very prepared, especially with my writing skills. The one caveat is its very close knit and accepting nature. The school is so welcoming and accepting of all types of people, and it is so small that you know everyone on such an intimate level. You just don't find that in the "real world".

On Administration & Policies: The administration and their policies are a completely mixed bag. On the one hand the school is small so its very personal and easy to get things done when you have a problem. On the other hand the administration is really not that helpful. Due to the nature of the school, they are pretty strict, sometimes to an unreasonable point. There is a compulsory uniform in which students have to wear that causes a lot of controversy. Also there always seems to be a conflict about the amount of freedom students have at IB. They are expected to do the work of college students, but seem to be treated like they are in middle school sometimes.

On Sports & Fitness: The physical education program is just fine. However sports don't exist, you have to play them at East Hartford High School.
