High School Senior

On Administration & Policies: Administration has done a great job to fuel the fire of Cardinal Pride in our school. Our pepfests are enjoyable for anyone and that has really helped our school become closer. But administration doesn't always focus on everyone in the school but rather just the athletes. Also, our principal is rarely ever seen in school. She's there everyday but she doesn't seem to leave her office much. The guidance counselors are very helpful and provide you with great college and life advice.

On Extracurriculars: Athletic teams at CRHS are very popular despite many of their losing records. In addition to sports, there are many clubs based upon hobbies like Anime, knitting, or foreign languages. The commitment is higher for sports or Theatre but usually the clubs for hobbies are year round while sports are only a part of the year. Administration supports the sports the most despite their losing record and even after our One Act Play went to State last year. Overall, the after-school activities are diverse and provide many options for students to become involved.

On Food: I bring my own lunch to ensure a healthy variety for my meal.

On Teachers: There is a wide range of teachers but the ones I have encountered in my advanced classes have been very intelligent and approachable. They effectively teach us the material but also give us labs or papers which push us outside of our comfort zone to help us grow as people and learners.

On Academics: I believe Coon Rapids High School has a wide variety of classes and teachers to serve all of their students well. I've taken honors, AP and CIS classes and I feel challenged with those classes. The teachers are excellent for the most part but it is clear they all are putting in effort to give us a good education. Social Studies electives are very popular because of the approachable, fun teachers and the interesting topics. Everyone that I know has taken a Social Studies elective has learned a lot and enjoyed overall, enjoyed the class.
