On Sports & Fitness: The athletic teams at DRHS are really one big family. Student involvement, fan support, school spirit, athletic facilities, and fitness programs are average. However, the team performances are great! They have a high level of sportsmanship and seriousness for their academics.

On Educational Outcomes: I have mixed feelings about this rate because the students kind of determine if they are ready for college or not. If the students took AP or honors classes, I feel like they were prepared. However, if the students took core classes and to fill up their schedule took Adv. P.E. and home economics courses, I feel like they weren't prepared. Because I took AP/Honors classes I feel more than ready for college. However, I can not speak for all of my classmates. I don't think I was prepared for the real world. Most of my classes were for science, history, or math. I do believe these classes helped me choose my major, but that's it.

On Academics: The academics at this school are great. The teachers really care for the students and want them to succeed. There are some teachers who do not provide a strict learning environment and the kids take over sometimes. BUT this would be my only complaint. The curriculum is average in normal classes. AP and honor classes are challenging and make the student evaluate their own performance. The scheduling process is good. The workload is average. Some teachers teach three different classes each day or coach sports, so its hard for them to tutor in the afternoons. Even though some teachers allow tutoring before school, some students' only option for transportation to school is the bus and the students only have maybe 10 minutes of tutoring if they don't go to breakfast. The most popular classes at DRHS are chemistry, physics, home ec., and gym.

On Health & Safety: This school has a very low tolerance for bullying and is very concerned for each students safety. Any form of fighting will automatically result in two week suspension. We have a police officer on school grounds at all times. We have cameras throughout the school. School doors are locked at all times. If a visitor wants to enter the school, then he must ring the buzzer and the secretary will allow them to come into the building. The school nurse is very attentive to the students and encourages them to participate in the blood drive. Personally, she has always taken care of me whether my problem was big or small. The principals do not allow arguing, swearing, or disrespect. This school is very organized and structured in a way that allows for an awesome learning environment.
