On Academics: The curriculum attempts to give us work that we try to complete in the time given but I sometime I think it just doesn't work out. I think the scheduling process is the most efficient aspect of Dutch Fork High. The workload for me personally can be so overbearing but sometimes you got to do, what you got to do.

On Teachers: Some of the teachers are absolutely fantastic and you take away loads of information from just one of their classes. Most of them give the student no time to understand the lesson and they give us a test the next day. I believe that they don't really teach, they just read what they see in the book or they just give us work/research papers that we have to do on our own. I believe that if the teachers just moved to the pace of their students that a lot more work and learning can get done. A lot of my teachers are brilliant, but they expect the student to be the same which can be detrimental to the student in the long run. Most of the teachers do not grade things on time but there are a few who do.

On Sports & Fitness: I believe that there are a lot of athletic opportunities at Dutch Fork. I wouldn't mind if they had a bad mitten team but its okay for now. They have great spirit and lots of support for there athletes and great fitness programs and rehabilitation centers. My biggest problem with this is the fact that the athletes take away all the support of visual and performing arts. I am a music major and there is always a discussion about us having to do a fundraiser because the board is not supporting us financially and is giving all the money to the athletes. I think it's unfair but I graduate in less than two months so I guess it's not really my problem anymore.

On Student Culture & Diversity: This is my first year at Dutch Fork High School and so far my experience is just...okay. I believe when it comes to spirit and acceptance Dutch Fork is good at doing there job but there are some slip ups. I believe that the first year teachers are not doing a very good job at teaching at the pace that the students learn in. I know that they have a time limit but most of them are just going to their own beat instead of actually considering the thought process of the students. I believe that Dutch Fork does have many different cultures but I still wouldn't say that it is as diverse as it should be. They do recognize different cultural traditions which is well respected. I do believe it's difficult for student who have anomalous sexual orientations. For example the guys who dress like girls and wear high heels are not treated with the same respect that normal homosexuals are treated with.

On Administration & Policies: I believe that the staff and administration are doing the best that they can to help the students, but I don't know if it's quite enough. Yes we have help with our classes for next year, scholarships, and college decision but I don't believe that the guidance counselors are very useful from an emotional stand point. If some one is having a really rough time at home or at school, I couldn't say with certainty that they guidance counselors would be of any help. I'm not really aware of any bullying that goes on in the school so I suppose that means that it's being taken care of. Attendance is very strict which is a good thing. It helps the students recognize that there attendance is very important to the value of their grade.
