In general, high school has been a good experience for me. I started in the fall of 2020, so my freshman year started with covid. This was probably the worst experience I had in high school. By the 2nd semester we were able to attend face to face, a better experience! I was able to make face to face connections with students and staff. I consider myself a very social person - so this was important for me. My best experience would have been being able to play varsity golf as a freshman. I was also able to join some of the many clubs including Beta Club, National Honor Society and Future Leaders Association. Our school also offers "technical" type classes for those students who after high school, would like to pursue that avenue. I was able to take a media class, which was very interesting. My Senior year, I was Chief Wampum, our school spirit leader - probably the second best high school experience. As for change, make it a bigger campus. We are 7A!
I would love to see the facilities updated and the quality of the lunch food updated! I love the music program, unfortunately our school isn’t funded very well so we don’t have a lot of money to have state of the art equipment. I also love the JROTC program but we have the same issue over there as well. The school just doesn’t get funded very much to put the money towards these extra curriculur activities.
The best parts of my experience was the variety of classes that were available to take along with the teachers and counselers. The counselers really help to see where one falls on their graduation requirements and the teachers are always there to help when needed. The worst parts of my experience was the amount of threats that seemed to happen. There were constantly fights breaking out and people stealing stuff not only from each other but from the school. I would like to see that change to where a kid doesn't have to worry about going to school and being caught in the middle of a code red at 8:30 in the morning.
