Frederick Douglass Academy II Secondary School Reviews
Rating 3.39 out of 5 41 reviews
Frederick Douglass Academy II is a Secondary School focused on creating the next generation of society’s leaders who are committed to excellence in character, scholastic achievement, and community service. Frederick Douglass Academy II also encourages every Scholar to be an active participant in their education. And Frederick Douglass Academy was a safe place for me.
When I first entered Frederick Douglass academy ii in February 2021 I was completely new to the learning environment partly because I attended secondary school in Guyana. However apart from this my initial experience as a Frederick Douglass Academy ii student was an excellent one as the teachers were nice and allowed me to adjust to this environment. Some even helped me to develop a passion for subjects I never paid keen interest in. However apart from the excellent teachers and staff. What I consider to be many flaws with this school is its students though like all schools there are a few bad children. At Frederick Douglass Academy ii I don't think it's a matter of bad or good but rather the level of respect students have for adults and peers. I believe this is partly due to the area which is not known for positive and welcoming vibes and since students who attend this school are from that area I strongly believe this is a contributing factor to the school's atmosphere.
The Schools learning structure is very good they use New Visions learning system. Kids are very active when school campus events happen . There is a big support system with each individual staff member. The preparation of staying ready so you don't have to get ready is amazing there is always a program to support your academics to be college ready.
