This high school is honestly one of the best high schools in the Metro Atlanta area AND for those who want a college campus setting in high school. You heard me! One of the things that make McEachern so unique is the atmosphere that is the school campus. The administrators try their hardest to make the campus safe for over 2,000 high school students from any fighting, accidents, etc... as in any high school. Through these efforts for safety, McEachern is a great school! I enjoy being able to go from building to building and have many class choices and opportunities that are great for both life and college readiness.
McEachern has poor priority management and has trouble properly addressing and resolving issues. Much of the school's funding goes towards the sports teams instead of improving classroom resources or fixing the broken bathrooms. Many of the policies are ineffective, for example the clear bag policy is designed to increase school safety, but in reality it creates an issue of student bags breaking. The clear bags are supposed to make it more difficult for students to bring weapons onto campus, but in practice said weapons could easily be placed in a binder or the school issued laptop bags that are not clear. Many of the schools regulations and rules restrict student freedom with little gain for the rest of the school. On the other hand the schools STEM program contains valuable information and is likely were the school excels most in it's education. Class schedule chances are flexible and can be fixed if an issue is present.
Great school and beautiful campus! STEM Program ,teachers, coaches and administrators are awesome! Teachers and administrators are supportive. My son had a great school experience at McEachern High School!
