Mesa High School Reviews
Rating 3.98 out of 5 636 reviews
Mesa High school, at first seemed very intimidating as previously I was at a small private school where only a few were selected to go. My first day of high school, I remember being lost and I found it very easy to ask for help as the students were nice and very welcoming. I later found out that Mesa High has clubs where they make lots of resources available for the freshman and as well as activities throughout the year to make them feel welcomed and as well as succeed with their academics. They go above and beyond and offer resources to help with finding jobs, help with tutoring and has some teachers who can help if there are language barriers. Overall, when it comes to the classes there are some teaching methods that can be enhanced for students to better learn and understand but from the classes I have taken personally, they have prepared me a lot when it comes to college preparedness.
When entering my freshman year it was prime Covid. I didn’t have many friends and I was very quiet and to myself. I had no idea what I wanted to do or be. I was involved in one specific CTE class, Sports Medicine. This program completely changed my life and who I am as a person. It was a very small class, there were some days it would just be 3 of us in the room. After some interactive time in the classroom I quickly grew to love the career of an athletic trainer. I decided to take the next level class my sophomore year and my life was transformed. I committed to the program and club and quickly took charge of who I wanted to be and what I wanted to do for others. My teacher and classmates taught me the important role health care providers have. Junior year I was sports medicine club secretary and I’m now the club president as a senior. I learned new roles in responsibility and communication in all kinds of scenarios. I accredit the trainer, coaches, and athletes who support me.
The worst parts can be the teachers or some of the people and the environment that is created from the things that go on at this school there will be fights or a teacher may yell at a kid or an incident where a teacher got fired because he stated his opinion on religion and just the way some teachers act towards student and other teachers. I may have it easier because I play football but some of the good things come from being able to be in assembly and getting to play a sport Mesa High has a vibrant culture with 11 state championships and people just being brought together for a common enemy because all roads lead to mesa in Arizona and you'll go out in public with a mesa shirt and some with a look at it and say "Hey I graduated from mesa" and you'll feel that connection with a completely random person and you'll really cherish the time here, of course, their the good and the bad but really there is mostly good here and I thank god for allowing me to be a Mesa Jackrabbit
