On Administration & Policies: The involvement of the principal is average, office staff usually have nothing to do with the goings-ons of the hallway. Hallway patrol is mostly monitored by the assistant principals, this means looking out for fights, tardy students, or dress code violations. While the dress code is strict, certain students are given much more leeway than others. Rather than having an armed security officer on campus my school had an assistant principal that took pride in being the self-proclaimed security officer. The campus was patrolled by him before school and after lunch to make sure students were getting to class and not leaving for lunch. Parking policy was a major issue since the majority of the parking lot was taken up by the band practicing, and staff parking was strictly prohibited to students, even though they had more than enough staff parking spots. Many parents also found it extremely unnecessary that students had to buy a $20 parking pass. School is free, it should be free to park but what other choice did the students have?

On Health & Safety: Every door in the entire school is on constant lockdown, and the visitor sign in area of the school is well maintained. It's virtually impossible for a random stranger to get into the building. Safety has never been an issue, and our principal always took pride on being the only 5A school in Texas to not have an armed security guard on campus.

On Resources & Facilities: The physical condition of the school is less than great. It is an old building with minor construction problems such as leaks. However, the school spares no expense on the latest technology, outfitting every teacher with new Mac desktops and giving every student an Apple iPad 2. College prep resources are plenty, and guidance counselors to do their best to fulfill the need of every student.

On Extracurriculars: While there are many clubs to choose from and many teachers willing to lead the clubs, funding often gets overlooked and even sacrificed for the better well-being of the sports department-specifically football.

On Teachers: None of the teacher I have met are interested in anything parents have to say, they have their own agenda
