On Sports & Fitness: I couldn't give a rating because I don't think it'd be an accurate representation of the sports at my school. Football is by far the most focused on. I think it's actually a little ridiculous how much time and money go into it, and how many rules are bent for the coaches and players. One of the reasons the softball team doesn't have their own field is because football takes most of the money the athletic boosters raise, and buy something brand new to replace their old brand new things. Football would've lowered my rating, but being a softball player this year would have raised it. After several years, we finally got rid of the Deatons, who had all but destroyed and corrupted the softball program. Now, we have two new softball coaches who have done so much with the program and have finally brought together all of the players as a team. All we need now is a field.

On Academics: I would say that the academics are one of the few things we do have, but it's really only outlying students (those of us who have higher than 4.0 for weighted GPAs) that carry all of those who don't even try/show up for school. We have many seniors each year recognised for their academic achievement, and there are many students involved in academic clubs, such as National Honor Society and Quiz Bowl. I think the workload balance is a little off, but I also see that there are students who won't try unless they "have to."

On Extracurriculars: While there are many options for the different kinds of clubs, most clubs tend to die out as the year goes on. I've been part of clubs that are influential and creative, like the Latin Club and Art Club, and I've been part of clubs that really aren't seen after the first part of the year. It could be better if more students could actually participate, instead of being burdened down by the hundreds of other things required for "a college resume".

On Administration & Policies: Our administration tries to keep student conduct in balance. There are many kids at my school who have no respect for teachers and who continuously cause problems, but I think the administration handles it pretty well. I wish that they would consider altering the dress code, however. It's ridiculous that girls can't wear track shorts when it's 90+ degrees out just because boys can't control their urges. Our guidance counselors are very willing to help students, especially when it comes to schedule alterations and college prep. If it wasn't for the fact that our school is over crowded, they might be able to help more one on one.

On Resources & Facilities: The efforts of our faculty almost outweigh the rather disgusting physical condition of our school. It would be nice to have money to fund things and replace the 50 year old toilets in the bathroom, but we don't because everyone is too busy funding football. Many of our teachers and administrators are very good at assisting students, and I would be willing to say that our guidance counselors are some of the best. We recently used a technology grant given to us by the county, and now all of the class rooms have SmartBoards that most of the teachers use.
