On Resources & Facilities: The buildings aren't new, but I know they're working to make some updates. The football field needs a serious makeover, they should install astroturf. Ms. Owen is an amazing college counselor. She is by far the most helpful person on campus and really gets to know her students. Normal guidance counselors aren't that great. I never really used them except when I was scheduling, which I already planned out before I went in so all I needed was them to sign off on it. There is a good amount of tutoring available, and most teachers are willing to help during nutrition, lunch, before school, and after school. I have no knowledge of the busing situation.

On Student Culture & Diversity: Taft has a very diverse student population, but this can lead to racism and unintentional segregation. People tend to spend time with peers who are most like themselves (from similar backgrounds and look similar) so whites, Asians, blacks, Persians, and Latinos tend to hang out in their respective cliques. Not to say that they never mix, but walk out to the lunch area and you'll see for yourself. I haven't personally seen students be discriminated against based of sexual orientation, but I'm sure it happens. Generally, Californians are accepting of the LGBTQ community.

On Sports & Fitness: I always played sports, so that covered my athletic requirement. Theres a lot of school spirit for basketball and football, so those sports get more funding. The sports I played (tennis and soccer) didnt get as much funding. Taft does have the option for students to take dance class instead of P.E., which I think is great. Taft also has a great Dance Team.

On Teachers: Teachers are excellent. They do care about teaching and offer a fair grading system. They are knowledgeable about their subjects and they offer to help students with what they need.

On Overall Experience: Senior activities are the best. We have an annual fashion show that's really fun. It's run entirely by students, and you can see how creative your classmates are. It's generally a safe school, and there's always something interesting going on at lunch, like random music playing or food trucks.
