Extracurriculars at AFS are great. The clubs offered range from affinity (ex: BSU and GSA) to social action (ex: PRIDE) to academic (ex: athletes) to just pure fun (outdoor adventure club)! Our most thriving area is our Diversity Program, which is open to all school student participation. The Diversity Program plans lots of activities for the school that include critical conversations, social action, and community planning. Through the sports requirement, the sports teams at AFS form super close bonds with each other in order to succeed to the best of their abilities. Each team is close-knit and invests in sportsmanship, dedication, and teamwork. Our theater program has won many awards including CAPPIES Best Play Award. It's a truly great experience for actors, back stage helpers, lighting experts, and set designers.

The teachers at Abington Friends School are the best! They get to know the students well over many years of interacting with them as teachers, coaches and mentors. These strong relationships means the school is a safe place to broaden your thinking, challenge yourself, and grow academically. I am tremendously happy to partner with such talented teachers in the raising of my children.

I attended AFS since I was in kindergarten and I graduated in 2013. I love the teachers, and the environment that AFS provided me, as well as introduced me to different perspectives and opinions. The people that I met during my time there have definitely changed my life, and helped me become the person I am today. Yes, the student body was small, and some people give me strange looks about learning about Quaker values, however, the skills I learned at AFS (both academically and emotionally/mentally) are ones that I will have for the rest of my life, and have made a lasting impression in daily life.
