Extracurriculars: This school is very great for athletic-oriented kids. There are many types of sports and the coaches are usually very hepful. On the other hand, programs such as Theater Arts or Marching Band could use more help and resources. I feel as if funding wasn't fairly dispersed for all programs, and that it was mostly aimed at athletics.

Overall Experience: Going to Atlantic City High School was quite the experience. My transition from a wholesome, innocent, middle school -- to a very diverse high school equipped with metal detectors and security guards -- was very interesting but I wouldn't change the way I grew up. I had many amazing experiences which came from getting involved in marching band to performing in Theater Arts, to many more smaller experiences with friends I've accumulated over the years. I would definitely suggest this school to anyone who wants to broaden their horizons.

Teachers: In my experience at Atlantic City High School, I've been lucky to have a wide-variety of great teachers. From music, to Spanish, to Algebra (despite the fact that math isn't my forte), all of my teachers have been great at helping me achieve my goals as well as bringing me out of dark times. They were all competent and helpful as well. No one was just there for the paycheck -- these people truly devoted their heart and souls into their career. Without their help I wouldn't be where I am today.

Health & Safety: I felt very safe at this school. There were instances where things got out of hand but security usually kept things under control. The only I actually felt unsafe were when riots broke out and police officers were forced to interfere. Although, those hardly happened. I never felt scared for my life because I never allowed myself to be involved in the violent and dramatic activities that went on in school. Most of the time if you stuck to yourself you could avoid any problems. Security officers were always aware of the surroundings and we even had metal detectors so I never worried too much while I was in school.

Extracurriculars: There were many after-school activities to participate in while I was in high school. I liked how they didn't just focus on everything athletic. They made sure students who were not into sports had a place that they could go to for enjoyment. Every single student had an outlet. I was captain of the football team and also ran track. Both programs were great and had coaches who pushed the athletes to be their best on and off the field. All of the extracurricular activities were ran correctly and had instructors who exercised all students' potential to the fullest.
