Overall Experience: I love the athletics, but the academics are somewhat weak. Teachers don't care that much and I wish we had more science electives. I also really wish we had a swim team. And I wish that the school wasn't so cold(temperature) all the time.

Food: Lunch isn't that great. Our meals have changed to healthier options in the past two-years which is both good and bad. I like all of the fruits and vegetables, but everything is on wheat bread, and I really miss things like hoagie with potato chips and wacky cake. Portions are small and I am sometimes left unsatisfied with my meal. You are allowed to buy extra food at an additional cost, but not everyone can afford to do so, so many students are left feeling still hungry after lunch. The breakfast options are good, especially breakfast pizza.

Administration & Policies: Bullying happens, but nobody really reports it. Boys on sports teams bully and haze each other and many of them get away with it simply because the administration doesn't know whats going on. Dress code is only enforced on short-shorts and tank tops. I don't know why but nobody ever gets in trouble for wearing short dresses even though they can be way more revealing than shorts. Most kids show up for class everyday, but if you have up to two days of unexcused absence, the school threatens to fine you, which is quite annoying since not every time I miss school is for a doctor's appointment.

Sports & Fitness: I love competing in sports. I attend almost all of the home football games and wrestling matches. Our student section, the stampede, is small but we have fun cheering on our teams. Bedford is a constant winner of the district title in many sports including tennis, wrestling, and soccer. We had a current state champion wrestler from my own class this year, Jonathan Gabriel. Bedford is a small town so athletics aren't only important to the students, but also to the community as a whole. I wish we could have a pool for swim team and a boys volleyball team though.

Teachers: Teachers never grade anything on time. Ever. You will take a test one day and not know how you did for up to two weeks. Many of the teachers don't seem to care about the students. They focus on teaching the standardized testing subjects so that students will pass and that is about it. Some of my teachers text on their phones or have snacks while the class does whatever they want. Most teachers except for a few of my favorite, don't make up their own lessons and simply let the book teach us rather than they do.
