I attended ba from 6th grade to sophomore year. I transferred to Brentwood high school my sophomore year and was astounded at how superior there academics were at Brentwood high. The head master there for lack of a better terms is a bully. He thinks he is running a military academy in a war zone. He preaches Christian ideals but shames and is suspicious of anyone who is not one of there stellar athletes. He demands total control and struggles to understand what it is like to be a kid growing up in America, because he is from a remote village in the jungle that did not have any of the temptations that kids struggle with today. This gives him a warped view of what is really going on outside of his office. He however does understand what donors want... which is success in football. On several occasions athletes were caught stealing from other students and doing drugs only to have that swept under the rug, while any other student would be singled out exiled or expelled.

This school prepared me for college academically but that's about all I got out of it. There are some great teachers that genuinely care about you but a lot of the policies are discriminatory. Their main focus is on Athletic Program. The athletes (specifically the more talented ones) get preferential treatment when it comes to discipline and academic leniency. For a christian school that promises to love, nurture and provide spiritual growth, I saw a lot of hypocrisy, unchristian like policies, and it actually hindered my spiritual growth. If I had to do it over I would not attend BA and would've saved my parents a LOT of money.

I cannot put that they are the best because some of the teachers, honestly, are not. I was in AP and honors classes and those teachers really are phenomenal! They are completely willing to help whenever they can and however helps you most. They are welcoming of ideas and very inclusive. They are not worried about going off their lesson plan and work well with rolling with the class that day.

The "regulars" teachers range from great to awful. This is partially due to having coaches as teachers. Some of the coaches really are great teachers and know what they are talking about, while others are clueless and have been caught looking up youtube videos before class on how to teach their lesson for the day.

If you are an honors/ AP track or are not afraid to ask these teachers for help if you are on the regular track, then this school has a fantastic group of teachers. If you are not likely to go ask for the help that you need, then it will be as easy to do well if you are struggling. There are always exceptions, though.
