The workload was ridiculous. I barely had anytime to do any work from other classes, and I was always stressed out. Teachers are okay, but the curriculum that they put together was boring, and simply too much work. I wish teachers would understand that we have other classes. This is especially true in an online forum.
Resources & Facilities:
There is no busing provided, since this is an online school. The building is top of the line, since they share it with VegasPBS. The computers are old and outdated, but they were in working condition. The guidance counselors are hard to get in touch with, and are hardly helpful. Tutoring was free, and there were students from the local university that came to help out. I rarely saw any parents at the school, other than to register throughout the year. College prep resources are not what they need to be. Especially for seniors.
If I had to do it all over again, I would not have chosen this online school to go to. There were no books, which means that everything was online (including the textbooks). I found this very agitating, since I am more of a visual learner, and I need to have things in front of me in order to learn. The foreign language classes were a mess, and the teacher I had was a bit rude. There are much better alternatives out there for an online school than this one.
My experiences in college have been favorable so far, despite the fact that I barely learned anything in high school.
Administration & Policies:
Guidance counselors are not helpful, at least the one I had wasn't. I was unaware of any school wide policies, since this was an online school. Office staff was okay, and I never saw the principal when I was on campus.
