Health & Safety: It's pretty safe in our school because I don't give much thought to the jeopardy of my well-being. However the school nurse really does not care for our general well-being - one time I had a massive headache (which turned out to be a high fever) so I went to the nurse and she not only did NOT check my temperature but she told me to stop breathing because I was too loud.

Overall Experience: I would go to this school all over again and try to stay away from the AP class masses because they will significantly downplay your self-worth.

Food: We have a main lunch line that follows the district lunch menu and then two alternate lunch lines with one selling the Cougar Menu, the same set of five-day meals, and the other selling al-carte items such as chicken wings, baked potatoes, and french fries. The school administration has been pushing for healthy items which led to a higher selection of baked chips, wheat Rice Krispies, juices, and Gatorade. Many students (myself included) complain about the taste of the school lunches and the probably-unhealthy concoction of ingredients that goes into creating them, but keep in mind that they have to mass-produce lunches for hundreds of students. In that perspective, our school lunches are not bad at all, and I'm pretty grateful for the options provided because being from an affluent school helps with the betterment of food.

Administration & Policies: In terms of dress code and attendance, Cinco Ranch really gets on the students for that because they want to promote a constant image of a well-mannered, myriad student population. However the guidance counselors are constantly causing problems in terms of scheduling, college applications, but especially scheduling. The counselors do not take into consideration of the students' interests and classes and merely throw them into any classes that have space IF there is a problem with their schedules. In terms of bullying, a lot of students do not partake in the physical bullying that has been ingrained into our psyche due to movies and anti-bullying policies. A lot of bullying now take place online through social media and our school does try to promote anti-cyberbullying policies, but the nonchalant attitudes of the affluent students causes poor implementation. Bottomline: the administration tries, but the students do not care.

Sports & Fitness: The sports teams at our school are highly revered and every day on announcements they make such a major deal out of their accomplishments and the upcoming games at other schools. Not to mention our constant pep rallies in the first semester are geared for the football team. Our athletics department is well-known for doing well in the district and state level and many of the student population participates in sports. School spirit-wise, our school massively advocates for it, especially the pep rallies for the football team. However you can tell that those who bring the school spirit is a small margin of the entire student population, and those in the pep rallies kind of just use that time to chill and get out of class, not really out of school spirit. Those in athletics are exclusive and not exactly approachable to the rest of the population of students and even though there are so many students in sports, it doesn't mean we're all for it.
