Overall Experience: My overall experience at this school so far has been alright. My favorite experience is probably meeting every other Tuesday afterschool for Cooking Club during my Freshman and Sophomore years. This school is unique because of the fact that the IB program is put into place at this school and the fact that we have a Nike field.

Administration & Policies: At Cleveland, we have a very strong student presence. What I mean is that students are very engaged in voicing their opinions and are not afraid of fighting for what they believe in. Dress code and the controversial policies around sexual orientation is very much being fought for at Cleveland. The school administration is listening to our concerns and their is a communication bridge between the student body and the school administration. This bridge is also built between guidance counselors and office staff.

Sports & Fitness: At Cleveland, sports is something very important to the student body. Many of its students are involved in some way or another with sports or a fitness class. There are four classes dedicated to fitness at Cleveland: Freshman Physical Education (requirement), Strength and Speed Training (which satisfies the requirement for Freshman Physical Education), CrossFit, and Weight Training.

Extracurriculars: The extracurricular opportunities at this school are at standard level. Cleveland's Speech and Debate Team is one of the most popular clubs that people tend to join since their team always do well in competition. The administration is very open to the idea of starting new clubs and it eager to hear about how every club is doing.

Overall Experience: I personally did not live the environment of Cleveland, but I did transfer there for their IB prgram. I did not like the lack of diversity and I feel the people were very closed minded in a different way. They were TOO liberal. They believe what htier parents believe without knowing all the details and there was little acceptance to any type of religion. More christians I ever met at Cleveland did not feel comfortable being open about their religious beliefs.

I enjoyed a lot of clubs they offered. Lacrosse, French Club, etc.

This school is unique because its spawning grounds for the typical Portland being. The "vibes" at school are different even in comparison to down the street at Franklin. It is slightly earthy and free. If i had the choice I would have just went to Madison High School. I do not believe transfering there was worth the class/education difference. The teachers do expect more out of you but I believe I would have gotten just as far.
