Food: The food is terrible, there is almost the same thing everyday. There is some type of burger with ranch or hot sauce, there is no variety. The burgers are either undercooked or ridiculously dry, the pizza is about the only safe thing. The veggies and fruits seem to always be there, as in they use left overs and sometimes it smells rancid and is rotten. There have been occasions when the milk is expired. The lunch makes everyone sick, and one bite will have you regretting it for the rest of the day.

Administration & Policies: The school dress code is ridiculous, there are many things that are banned for petty reasons, such as moccasins footwear, when many students pay a lot of money to purchase them so they have nothing else to wear. Students get detention for not wearing an ID, there is more of a focus on this than showing up to class on time. The guidance counselor is not that helpful, he turned in many transcripts to colleges late therefore many students missed deadlines. The principal is fair but shows favoritism towards the foreign exchange students.

Sports & Fitness: There is good school spirit when it comes to the football and basketball team, but sports are not really celebrated. The gyms are in need of being modernized, and the pool area has not been the same since a student drowned a few years back.

Teachers: There are some teachers who do go above and beyond to help students, but there are more teachers who just give a huge workload without adequate instructions because they expect us to know stuff because it is an IB school. There are a couple of teachers who do not even try at this point, just hand out worksheets and expect us to gain something from it.

Extracurriculars: The most popular club is the Student Advisory Board, many students are members, it is pretty much a student council, there is also Gay Straight Alliance, Abelon Committee, Yearbook Club, and College Essay Club which helps tremendously in preparing a great college essay. There are no sport teams at the school, but students can join the teams at East Hartford HIgh School
