Coon Rapids High School offers many athletic organizations for girls and guys and I bet there is over 50% of our school being involved in at least one sport or fitness group. I believe we have the best school spirit in our district. Even if our team is losing, we still support them all we can. We as students and staff wish the best for our athletic teams. At all of our events, we show our support by wearing Cardinal Pride, Red, white, or black. Our biggest athletic event for school wide participation is football. Our football team has a low record and doesn't win often, but the stands will always be full of fans. At our pepfests, they are CRAZY! Everyone goes wild and is pumped to be there, it's awesome.

Throughout my four years attending Coon Rapids High School, I had a great experience. I had the opportunity to experience different classes focused on a specific major/field outside of Coon Rapids High School. Which allowed me to get a better feel about what field I want to major in, and I also had the opportunity to meet new people from different schools. The staff was great, they provided strong commitment to helping students succeed and they would talk with students not only about academics but personal life. The school emphasized about how important people's culture is, they gave students opportunities to share their culture and way of life. Despise the differences and the diversity of the school, the staff emphasized how important the unity of the school should and needs to be. Coon Rapids provides free college visits to students which is crucial to the college readiness and planning.

Many classes available for students to take of their choosing. We offer regular, honors, AP, and CIS (College in school) classes at Coon Rapids High School. If there is a scheduling issue, our councilors do a very good job and organizing them and working around students requests. Honors U.S history was definitely a challenge for me but I also enjoyed the course. It was cool to learn and understand my country more!
