Cooper High School Reviews
Rating 3.85 out of 5 175 reviews
I initially struggled to find my place in high school. I've never been someone who was considered "popular" or anything, and I found it hard to make friends. I was shy. I was filled with a lot of self-doubt and insecurity up until my junior year, when my friend (a member of our school's student council) told me I should run in the student council election. I realized that it had been something I wanted to do, but didn't out of fear. I was nervous, but I decided to do it. It was the best decision I ever made regarding high school - I didn't get voted in, but I was given an appointed position and I was immediately welcomed by 36 other students that I've now become closely-knit with. Our group is based on community service, and we have an on-site food pantry that we use to deliver food to struggling students at our school, we visit with young children in our community, we travel to a Navajo nation and service them. That changed my experience with Cooper for the better.
I think that Cooper is a pretty average school. They have a lot of impactful teachers that really shaped my experience in a positive way. The food is ok for public school but I do know some kids who have gotten sick from it. There fine arts programs are really amazing for where I live, we get plenty of funding. Although a lot of activities and programs are underfunded, for example color guard. The administration here are really nice people who seem to genuinely like teenagers which is nice . Over all an ok school that has problems that I would see as a normal thing, nothing too serious.
Cooper High School has been my high school for four years. This high school is all I have known. This school is a great school. Cooper has so many different student groups. This makes the cooper for everyone. Everyone has a place at cooper. There so are many diversities at cooper. The teachers are amazing, they help any and every student to make sure we get the education we need. They love to celebrate their students. We have amazing sport programs, But there are so much more than sports!
