Cornerstone Preparatory Academy Reviews
Rating 4.5 out of 5 78 reviews
Cornerstone is a very safe environment with great teachers and staff that provide their full attention helping each and every student. With the 12-1 student-teacher ratio, there are many opportunities to connect and have dedicated learning times within the classes. All around cornerstone was an amazing college prep school with great staff and teachers who dedicated their work to help support their students.
I have been at Cornerstone for twelve years and I have loved the extra time with my children. My son is thriving at Georgia Institute of Technology. My oldest daughter is thriving at Liberty University and my youngest daughter has been accepted to nine universities.
Cornerstone is a hybrid, college-predatory private school. Secondary goes three days a week, while elementary goes the remaining two days. I love the flexibility this schedule gives me to learn time-management and organization, as well as being able to have flexible hours for jobs. As I have spoken with alumni, I have grown to appreciate the schedule. Grads have reported it more easily transferable into the college environment. I believe I will be well prepared for college, and for that I am extremely thankful. However, this structure can also prove challenging. Being in an AP class means that I only have 55 minutes of in-person instruction 3 times a week. The rest of the information is up to me to learn, making my time difficult to balance and information difficult to digest. Additionally, like most smaller schools, the limitations of sports and opportunities is something I wish could be different. However, I am grateful that it is more realistic to participate in what is offered.
