I am a student of the Weld county RE-1 school district and my experience was sub-par due to the lack of resources, due to lack of students. My school's population is about 800-900 and everyone lives in a rural area. This leads to getting less technology resources, our teacher's are scarce and it seems like the board just hires anyone to be an educator. Our English department is a joke and is taught by the directions of a booklet issued to every student in the school
I like how many of the teachers are very involved with their students and they care about their student's learning. One thing I would like to see change is maybe rebuilding certain sections of the high school because some parts I feel like they are much older.
Weld County School District RE-1 has improved itself from last year a lot. At Valley High School, they have put in self water bottle fillers next to the water fountains that allows the students to fill up their water bottles quick and easy before class starts. Also, the sports teams at Valley High School are amazing, with wrestling winning state 4 years in a row, Baseball winning state for the first time since 1983, and our softball team qualifying for state 13 years in a row. Valley High School is a great school to put your kids in, especially since they only go to school Tuesday through Friday, and get to you their own laptops in class that they pay the school to use for the whole year. Once your student graduates fromValley, they only pay $10 and the laptop is theirs. Who wouldn't want to go to Valley High School.
