There is a lot of unintentional class separation at this school. Many kids who attend have very wealthy parents though some are not fortunate enough to be this way. The personalities of the kids at this school is the biggest issue I have and the reason for not wanting to attend here again if I had the choice. The teaching staff is great though so if that could be the only thing I had to deal with, I would do it again!

Desert Vista High School (DVHS) is a fantastic school. It is extremely diverse and currently educates over 3,000 students. DVHS offers a wide variety of courses including higher level / college classes. I really enjoy the option of taking dual enrollment classes, which provide me with college credit. The teachers at DV are incredibly devoted and encouraging to their students. They are not only committed to teaching students the course material, but also teaching us skills that we will use in the future such as: how to study, take notes from a text book, etc. DVHS is also very passionate about athletics and extracurricular activities (clubs). DV offers students the ability to participate in over 90 clubs, many of which involve volunteering and community service. I find Desert Vista High School to be a great learning environment. The teachers at DV are very supportive to all students in need of help. Desert Vista provides it's students with a great high school experience.

If you want challenging academics and a competitive class experience then this is the school for you. All your peers are in class for one thing and one thing only: to learn. And not everyone is focused entirely on STEM either. Unlike some other schools in this district, Desert Vista places a great amount of emphasis on extra-curricular activities, be it athletics or non-academic sports. This school encourages students to get out and get involved in their school and their community. The cafeteria food is so-so but that is to be expected of high school.
My biggest advice to incoming students would be this: be nice to everyone you meet (students, teachers, janitors), find something you love and never let it go, because odds are there's a teacher somewhere on campus who will help you achieve all your hopes and dreams.
