Desert Vista is a decent high school with great people and amazing activities and clubs to join into. Desert Vista High School offers a wide range of extracurricular programs for students to get involved in. Some of the programs include sports teams like football, basketball, and soccer, as well as clubs like art club, debate team, and robotics club. There are also opportunities for students to participate in theater productions and community service projects. It's a great way for students to explore their interests and make new friends!
Overall, Desert Vista is an excellent school. My best experience is my senior English class, Honors Humanities. It has been a fun class while also being very educational. My teacher for the class, Mr. Hermanski, is amazing because he can teach us while also making it interesting enough so everyone is still willing to participate. The worst parts are some of the administration and facilities. The bathrooms have taken a rough hit this year with a lot being locked because of people smoking in them. The administration has not been beneficial either because of these problems in the bathrooms and their solution is to lock them, but in doing so, fewer people can go to the bathroom during school when they need to. I would like to see the administration come up with solutions to the bathroom while still letting students use them when needed. Problems aside, the school overall is very good and allows people to have a safe learning environment.
Extra curricular activities helped me to gain some great friendships and gave me a sense of belonging. I like that it is a large school and you can always meet new people. Academics and teachers were just ok. There were a couple teachers that really care and take interest in their students and show up to support extracurriculars & give extra help with work when needed, but not many teachers do that.
