My overall experience with this school is pretty good! I feel like there are many possibilities to express oneself through various programs that the school offers. On the other hand, East is known to be the most competitive school in the state, and that can severely intensify the stress level of students here. Everyone who attends here can relate to the overwhelming burden of work and competitiveness. However, this allows students to really try their best, and I would say 80% of the teachers are excellent and are extremely passionate about their teachings. If I could choose to go here, I guess I would despite the competitiveness that really sets high standards where in other schools the standards are much lower.

As stated before, most of the teachers are phenomenal and hard-working. Of my schedule for last year, I felt as if only one of my teachers were really unhelpful and unfair while the others were great. They really know their stuff and are willing to help out whenever you need it, and they really should get paid more! Building relationships with high school teachers are extremely important when it comes to many things, so I've gotten very appreciative and friendly with my teachers. Again, I only had one teacher who was very unfair, and he was inconsistent with grading and favored other students which made me extremely unsatisfied with the grade I ended up with and the little material I ended up learning. Overall, the teachers are wonderful.

The athletic and fitness opportunities at East Chapel Hill High School are great! There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with extracurricular activities if you have the time to do so. There is a huge number of student involvement with sports. In mostly all of my classes, more than half make up athletes. This makes the athletic scene so much better at my school. It's very fun to go to the games and support your peers.
