East Mecklenburg High School was the perfect fit for me because of the diversity, dedication, and the International Baccalaureate program offered by the school. The principal is very engaged, and the students and staff always show the up most support for the arts, sciences, academics, and sports. I graduated with my International Baccalaureate diploma, and because of my critical thinking skills were properly equipped, college was a breeze for me. East Meck is definitely the proper school for your child if you are looking for a school that offers challenging academics, a welcoming community, fun and engaging extra-curricular activities, and so much more. GO EAGLES!

I graduated from EMHS in 2015 and participated in the IB program. I do not suggest the IB program for prospective students. As a sophomore at a four year university, I can honestly say that IB was more challenging than it was worth. IB is great the first 2 years and the last 2 are too challenging for high school students. Overall, EMHS is a fine school filled with great faculty who really care about their students. The student body is very diverse and is also very welcoming to students. I highly suggest that students participate in school activities and organizations to truly experience all that EMHS has to offer.

East Mecklenburg High is one of the best cms schools. East Meck has a little bit of everything. Our Academics is great and the college readiness is very high. You can take Standard, Honors, AP, and even IB classes. Our teachers will do anything to get every student ready for the next level, if its going off to college or just going into the next grade. Our sports teams are coming along; we call ourselves the New East because in a couple of more years our teams will be state champs. East Meck is very much a big family. We were recognized by the State Board of Education for North Carolina in Raleigh, as the first and ONLY Prepared Global Ready High School in the state. Overall East Mecklenburg High is a great school and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
