After spending the past 4 years at East Mecklenburg High School, I have experienced many diverse things. I believe I have had one of the most unique high school experiences through virtual school (COVID-19), up to dual enrollment with Central Piedmont Community College. To say the least I have see various things among the school in various aspects. I believe the school provides various resources and staff to meet any needs you may have. East Meck is know for their IB program which is not an easy task to say the least. This is truly the main reason why East Meck has grow so much in the last decade.
The best part of East Mecklenburg High is having the upmost support from our principal Rick Parker. He supports all aspects of the school and contributes the best that he can. He makes sure to appear to all events and allows students to branch out and express themselves, as our school is extremely diverse.
I think the worst part of East Meck is the campus floor plan. With the school being an open campus, anyone can walk on and be a threat to the safety of the students. With the school also being very old, some parts of the buildings provide a ton of inconvenience to the school. Such as the building leaking water from a broken pipe which made a classroom have to be moved. I wish that the campus was upgraded and we had a more safer school.

As a senior at East Mecklenburg High School, I have throughly enjoyed my 4 years here. I play a sport and I throughly enjoy the team as well as the athletics environment. I am also a member of Student Congress and my peers in government working to unify the student body are some of the best people I have ever met.
