Fontana High School Reviews
Rating 4.08 out of 5 576 reviews
Fontana High School is a great place for academics and sports with very talented and dedicated teachers. However, this school is not that diverse, it is mostly Hispanic and so the school is mainly celebrating the Hispanic and Mexican culture and art rather than other cultures. There are a few clubs that are founded by students that are the minority at this school but has not been that popular. The cleanliness is not the best here either but the staff do try to clean and provide students with good food and toiletries. Other than that, the people here are usually friendly, welcoming, and very supporting. The school’s administration also have a strong desire to help students succeed and will provide students with the opportunities to tour and prepare for college.
My academic background is pretty good, I have a high GPA. I do get tutoring since I’m in Avid so every Monday and Thursday we get free tutoring. I do believe my grades from high school and Chaffey college reflected my abilities, but I know I could’ve done even better. I know my weaknesses and strengths. I get more additional support when I don’t really understand a subject like always asking questions to my peers and teachers. I also try teaching others because if I learn something and I’m able to teach it then I already know the subject well enough. I also think sometimes grades aren’t a reflection, it’s really the person’s mindset. I see some students try their best but don’t have all their A’s. Your mindset can lead you to become a better version of yourself. Learning new information daily will help you just do that. For example, most students do better in the 2nd semester compared to the first because they already have so much more knowledge rather than just starting.
I have been going to Fontana High School for all four years and I am going to graduate soon. During my time at Fontana High, I have enjoyed the clubs on campus such as Theater Production, AVID, and Madrigals. I loved my time at this school and this school celebrates every student's achievement such as applying for college, honors, and school spirit. I am truly going to miss this campus, but I know that I have made my mark onto this campus. I am following in my parent's footsteps; my parents went to Fontana High School. I am happy to say that my school is a very good school although the school was spoken about very poorly. This school has truly built a better and stronger foundation for the students and something I would hope to change is the diversity of the campus. This school has definitely push for their students to complete all the state and college requirements and I can confidently say that this school has a good college readiness.
