I gave it "great" rating because over all this school is better than others. It has Academy - special program that gives selected , motivated kids to go deeper in Social Study, Language Arts and foreign language. What I don't like about school , and this could be true to any other high school nationally, is amount of stress the kids go through. I do not feel compassion on teachers' side. Each teacher behaves as his subject is the only one the child has to care about. In reality, at 1:00 a.m. my child is in group chat with other students preparing for some tests. The number of tests and quizzes in honor/Academy classes is insane. Kids are constantly sleep-deprived. What is worse, they are not rewarded. The teachers take pride in lowering the grade when in doubt. The child can write an amazing paper, spending long days and nights - and get punished for ridiculous technicalities of not exactly correctly presenting the cited source. It's discouraging and unfair. And it's true for every subject. My child got 34 on ACT. His GPA is not near where it should be.

I really enjoyed this school, it was a great time in my life and feels extremely homey, even now, when I am across the country.
