Grandview Hills Elementary School Reviews
Rating 4.5 out of 5 4 reviews
I have two children who have been through GVHE from kindergarten on. The academic rigor is perfect for elementary age children. They also come away with a greater understanding of their place in the world and more empathy and compassion than I sense from kids I know who attend other schools. My oldest (now in middle school) competes well academically with the students from the other feeder elementary (which has higher test scores and richer kids and a larger student population). The IB program is amazing, and the small size of the school may hurt it a little financially, but the community of learning more than makes up for it. The best kept secret in Austin.
Every school has great teachers and maybe a few who shouldn't be there. And teachers are human. One teacher may be great for your kid and terrible for another. The school works hard on placement of students, and I have found in my now 7 years of experience with this school that a teacher who is not succeeding moves along within a year either by force or by will.
My children have participated in the following activities with little or no cost: Chess Club, Lego League, Choir, Performing Arts, Golf, Garden Club, Running Club
