Overall quality of teachers is okay. Most teachers are engaging and are understanding with students situations and if the student is struggling, most will gladly assist them and have after school sessions for tutoring or to make up tests/quizzes. However there are a few that are too strict and inconsistent with grading. There are also a few that move to quickly during a lesson of new material and do not explain very well to the students and leave many students confused and frustrated for not being able to understand the material which therefore leads to students practically teaching themselves.

I can't describe the teachers teaching style because most of the teachers at Hopewell High School do not teach, making the students learn on their own by reading the textbook. The teachers are not interested in students and do not work to ensure their success, instead they take comfort that many of the students that go to this school are not from families that can help the students (of low income) and therefore do not even try to do a good job because they can just find excuses for students not preforming well on test (as in blaming the students as being stupid and not having a future). The teachers are not consistent in their grading-giving out lots of work but not always grading everything (most of the time they push back grading until last minute, then they don't grade it on time and just leave out most of the work) and also showing favoritism in grading (as in if you suck up to the teacher you will get a higher grade). There still are around 3 or 4 good teachers that actually teach and grade fairly but overall this school has a very poor quality of teachers.

Most teachers are amazing at Hopewell! There are some teachers though that are either very harsh on grading (compared to the rest of the school) or are very lenient with some students and not with others (or playing "favoritism"). Most teachers are very friendly and very approachable. Most teachers you can have a one-on-one conversation about everyday life and even get just basic real-life advice on how to handle situations.
