Jay M. Robinson High School Reviews
Rating 3.71 out of 5 241 reviews
For the most part, I am extremely happy with my experience at Jay M Robinson High School. I was team captain of the volleyball team and the group commander of the JROTC unit. Those aspects of the school made my entire high school experience fun! I feel that the academic courses adequately prepared me for college; however, there was a decline in AP course availability in the math and science realm because many teachers left our school. Because of this, I had to rely on online courses which limited my education. Overall, I feel that I belong at my high school and the staff treats me like family. I value staying involved in the extracurricular activities at my high school because I love that I am able to learn, meet new people, and become more involved within the community. I am grateful that I will be able to call myself an alum of Jay M Robinson High School at the end of this May!
My favorite experience at Jay M. Robinson High School is participating in the marching band all four years. There has been a ton of life lessons from participating in the band program. Examples include hard work, dedication, confidence, perseverance, and more. I had the opportunity and honor to serve on a leadership council where I helped to assist my peers with music and marching needs. My favorite memory is marching in the 80th commemoration of Pearl Harbor Day Parade in Hawaii.
The classes at Robinson have wonderful teachers who are passionate at what they do. One thing I would like to see change for the upcoming generations at Robinson is giving the students more responsibility over their academics. I feel students "hands are held" in the classroom, in which I believe does not allow a lot of room for growth. In order to achieve this, I think students should be informed how important a high school education can benefit their lives to achieve their future goals and dreams.
