John Jay Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.74 out of 5 350 reviews
John Jay is a wild experience. On one hand its your typical public school with terrible food, underpaid teachers, and a school thats being held together with duct tape. On the other hand the teachers are either the nicest and funniest people on the planet or hate children with their entire being, majority of the bathrooms could be closed at any given time. It is the strangest mix of kids, because there's mansions on one side of the district and sticks and slums on the other side and they all share one school. Funding could range from, "we can upgrade the theater and afford Chromebooks" to "internet? what internet?" and the odds that some fight will start over dr*gs is more likely than the sun rising in the morning. To sum up, recently a friend told my how the final act of the play ended with a fog machine, which in turn set off a smoke alarm and required everyone to evacuate, which I think is the most accurate depection of John Jay anyone could describe.
It wasn't high school musical but it wasn't horrible. High school is what you make of it. The teacher were cool and guidance always there to help.
I believe my time at John Jay was just as good as it could have been. I enjoyed my time there, I dont bleive there is a such thing as a perfect school but this one was pretty good despite a few teachers. I believe that John Jay has some of the best school spirt within our district and everyone is very involved within the school from clubs to sports to other activities.
