I feel that La Follette high school is a great school mainly because they prepare you for college by having 90 min classes although it may seem like a long time in class it actually isn't, the time goes pretty fast. On early release Monday's all students Report to their home rooms where teachers help us students get ready for college for example for seniors we had three workshops where they helped us apply to a Madison college as well as help us with finding jobs. Another thing I like about La Follette is that all the staff are friendly and want you to succeed the counselors are amazing at their jobs and we have a great principal who always gives a reminder on the speaker every morning which I feel is fantastic because it actually helps motivates students to get class on time. Other than that the school is very diverse and accepting. We don't win a lot in a lot of sports but me personally playing on the sports teams I enjoyed it even if we lost some and won some

It's hard to describe the overall quality of the teachers at my school because every one is different. However, I think most teachers at my school genuinely care about students and try to make their classes engaging and interesting. Many teachers at my school go out of their way to make sure every student understands the class lessons and makes themselves easily approachable when students need help. Despite this, I have come across a few teachers at my school who don't seem very qualified to teach the courses and aren't very enthusiastic about teaching which makes it more difficult for students to be interested in the class content too.

My school offers a lot of different sports for boys and girls but one thing I've noticed is that our athletic department values the boy's sports more than the girl's. The distribution of funding to each sport is unfair, it seems as though the more popular sports get the most funding and recognition.

Even though our school offers multiple clubs and after school activities, the quality of them is not great. There is after school homework club where students can get help from tutors but sometimes there aren't enough tutors to help everyone out. In addition to this, clubs seem to have limited funding and administration support.
