Teachers: There are a select group at teachers that go above and beyond for their students. There is also a snobbishness to the students that seem to have rubbed off on the teachers

Student Culture & Diversity: The few students of color and low-income students band together. Most students are rich, white, conservative and obsessive about grades. LGBT students are suprisingly accepted, that is, if you are white and rich. Most students drive to school in expensive cars, sport awful spray tans and wear outdated yet expensive summer wear--yearlong. It's extremely hard to be not rich, not white, and not conservative here. Walking in the hallways I hear things like "F-ck Bernie Sanders! Trump is going to win!" Students here live in Trump's neighborhood and are incredibly loyal to him. One of my teachers started the first day of class by explaining the feats and accomplishments of Hitler, the side that we "didn't learn about."

Academics: Cheating is rampant, students are obsessive over grades and students cheat in groups a lot. Cheating is easy at LNHS. We don't offer any quality AP classes, besides in English and Math. We have only three foreign languages, two of which only have one teacher. Teachers are absent typically twice a week in every class. Ask any LNHS student and they will confirm this for you. As a student here, I've learned little to nothing. The counselors are awful at finding classes for you.

Health & Safety: There are SROs everywhere, who do absolutely nothing to stop the bullying students face. Students of color (as myself) tend to avoid certain areas and hallways. The only safe areas for students who aren't the norm are against lunch rules, where teachers monitor and roam obsessively. There is little physical violence at this school among white students. White students abuse ethnic slurs and exploit students of color for cheap racial jokes. The health resources is a joke. There is one nurse, and her office is just a chair and a desk. All she can do is distribute medicine. There have been many occasions where I have asked for advice on headaches or pink eye, and I would have been better off reading WebMD.

Extracurriculars: Most students want to pad their resume without doing any work. So there are many clubs created out of interest that do absolutely nothing. The chorus and theater department is plagued by nepotism. Clubs with names do exist (like Debate and Global Scribes) but they are completely unaffiliated with the official organizations. Just a quick browse of the club options reflects the superficiality of the student body, clubs like: Kind Acts, Bullying, Friends 4 Change are alarming.
