Overall Experience: I loved the time I spent at this school, especially the time our baseball team (I was a pitcher) in my Junior year beat Houston County. I feel like the uniqueness of this school is due to us being in the top 100 in the nation. Student involvement has been second to none. There's a loyalty and pride in both student and faculty that in my opinion beats all.

Teachers: I had some really good teachers and some really bad teachers. Most of them though really helped whenever I needed it.

Health & Safety: On the one hand, it's great feeling safe and secure in your school. On the other hand, it's a pain for parents, friends, or really any non-student to visit. I would compare it to the security at an airport.

Extracurriculars: I took part in the show choir, concert choir, drama club, tennis team, and literary quartet. All of the singing groups were under the supervision of Stacy Branch, who basically put the moon and stars in the sky for most students. Unfortunately, the funding for all of these groups was either extremely low or nonexistent. It was difficult for the students to stay competitive with "rich" schools like Albertville, but that made it all the more sweet when we frequently bested them. All thanks to Stacy Branch and her brilliant direction. The drama club was fairly well managed for the short time I was involved, and the tennis team was without a doubt, the worst high school extracurricular activity I ever joined. In terms of both management and funding, the high school tennis team sucked.

Overall Experience: As with most public schools, the parental problems are less indicative of the school's abilities and more representative of the students' attitudes. Most kids just don't apply themselves and most parents have enough problems on their hands as it is. I was one of the rare cases in which my parents were loving, supportive, and took the time to help me.
