Langston Hughes High School Reviews
Rating 3.44 out of 5 523 reviews
I will like educators to care more for students learning experience and environment. The school is really big on sports, especially football. The best parts of the school is dual enrollment. The program allows you to take dual enrollment credits at acceptable colleges for a full year for free! This is an awesome contribution to your gpa, looks good on your transcript, and resume. A con of the school is a low variety of AP classes compared to most schools. With the high school environment, a lot of students don't take their education seriously and even try to disturb the learning environment. If you are a focused individual and a high achiever you will succeed. The faculty, staff, and educators are great and connections with your teachers are easy. Once you as the student make it clear you are serious about school, unlike the vast majority, teachers will make sure you have all that you need to succeed and do well. Teachers at Langston are truly for you and support your future endeavors.
Langston School is undeniably an excellent institution, with a reputation for academic excellence and a supportive community. However, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of student government involvement and safety. Currently, students are not given enough opportunities to participate in school governance, which can lead to a feeling of disconnection and disengagement. Additionally, there are safety concerns that need to be addressed, such as inadequate lighting in some areas and a lack of security measures. It is crucial that the school administration takes these concerns seriously and works towards ensuring that Langston is a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
It wasn't the most horrible experience, but it's not like I can say they valued academics over everything. The faculty seems they are in high school as well. They are sometime hard to fin or get a hold of and usually will forward you to someone else and the hard students overtake the school and lack any respect, making more difficult all around for the kids who want to succeed. It's really more of a social than a high school but it depends on the person. Some may thrive in this environment, some may not. It really depends, but you can quickly tell whither or not the school is for you. Was it the most challenging and preparing school? No, but it was a good time for high school ( for the most part im pretty antisocial )
