Overall Experience: I joined ASB because I wanted to be part of a family. I wanted to feel more connected to the school and when I joined Directors, I did feel that way. Although you do have to deal with certain personalities that clash when you have to deal with the ASB class, I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything. My teachers have made a very large impact on my day-to-day experiences and actually made me want to learn. Our rallies are the best and having everyone come together and shout their years are a vital component. The PAWSS program is amazing and I love how the program tries to involve a large amount of people, I feel like it has made many more socially aware. If I were to do high school all over again, I would not choose any other school over King. We are proud of everything we offer and do for our community and it truly is GREAT TO BE KING.

Food: I wish I could give the cafeteria/food services more credit but I really cannot. When you are polite and try to ask what they have today, they are incredibly rude to students. One incident occurred just this week; a student bought his lunch from one lunch cart and went to the next one to get juice since the one he bought his food from did not have one. The woman in charge of the cart moves the cart and tells the boy that he cannot have a juice and that it is his fault and he should have bought food from her cart if he wanted juice. This was just outrageous because not everyone gets juice but IT IS included in the lunch price so she should have not done that. Also, there are numerous occasions when the food looks incredibly gross. Stay away from the beans because they crust over with lard.

Administration & Policies: The campus aides tend to believe that they need to be extra protective when they really do not need to be.

Teachers: My experience with the majority of the teachers at King has actually changed my high school experience into something great. Although I have had my fair share of teachers who do not seem to care about the students when they are struggling or blame the students for their lack of success when the teacher does not see that they are the issue. My teachers have been so caring but some have really just been described as a nice person but a really poor teacher. My AP Lit/Comp teacher loved to incorporate technology in his lessons and I found that to be very helpful. Some teachers have their own methods in grading and can be late on the grading of assignments. I have had 4 teachers that did not update their grades until a day or so before the grading period closed even though I had asked them multiple times before if I had any missing assignments etc. One of my teachers I have actually has been lagging on grading because he also is a coach and I don't know whether or not that is fair for his academic students.
