As a parent, I could not be happier with Milton Academy! My daughter feels both challenged and supported. I was also very happy with the financial aid package they put together.

I'll preface this by saying that plent of students love it here, but plenty can't wait to get out (like me).

Pros:

-the student body is very accepting and rather peaceful, no bullying

-the campus is beautiful and facilities are top notch (except for math, the department the administration could care less about)

-small classes and curriculum not based solely on memorization

-prepares you very well for great colleges

-fairly free course selection, not too many requirements

cons:

-divide between day and boarding students as well as between snobby rich kids and everyone else

-no economic diversity

-large number of helplessly incompetent teaches

-VERY entitled students with a disconnect from reality

-little support for or emphasis on math department

-the culture is work work work. Students rarely have time for fun and often negatively impact their physical or mental health because of the stress of the work

Overall, I wouldn't choose to go here, but it was really my only option so I'm stuck. If you fit into the rich kid world or have a inhuman ability to complete work without stress, then I guess it's a good fit

In my personal experience, the teachers have been great. They were readily available for meetings and were very willing to make sure I understood the material. However, I heard from some of my classmates that some of their teachers were not the best. Sometimes those teachers were too tough or unfair when it came to grading.
