Health & Safety: The campus was locked up this year, making it much more difficult for unauthorized/dangerous individuals to enter from outside the school- which was and still is entirely plausible, given the number of doors in the building. There doesn't seem to be too much bullying (though it is there), but there can be some nasty fights. Some of these can be mere catfights, while others are full-blown physical incidents- namely the stabbing in the lobby a few years back. However, if you stay out of the violent circles, you'll probably be fine. Gang violence or anything of that nature isn't a problem here.

Health education here isn't bad, but the constant influx of student teachers and lack of interest from the students make it unmeaningful. The nurse isn't even full-time, and ice packs tend to go quickly. The counselors can be very helpful or very unhelpful depending on who you talk to, but I personally believe that the school tends to do whatever it can within what it perceives as its realistic realm of power to help its students with safety and/or health issues.

Extracurriculars: Teachers have been forced to go to meetings almost every single day after school. In addition to the already-hectic schedule of most MHS students, which tend to include sports, jobs, or other activities, this makes it hard to hold meetings after school that people can actually attend. Plus, clubs without large/dedicated membership bases struggle to schedule meaningful activities for members or for the general student population. A lot of overzealous, college-oriented students join or run clubs for the sake of their resume and then fail to attend/host any sort of significant activities.

Overall Experience: The parents here are not the greatest. Yes, there are some incredible parents who have had a tremendous impact on the school. Yet there are also parents who are far too involved, abusive, or even completely absent. The overcompetitive parents have been known to behave like high schoolers themselves (namely, in a negative way) when interacting with children outside of their own, or bullying teachers and/or administrators when they don't get their way- even when they're in the wrong. Cheaters get off the hook, and slackers get special treatment because of parental influence.

As for the other types, well, MHS has its fair share of parents who abuse or neglect their children. This leads to negative effects on their children and those around them. Doesn't every school?
