Overall Experience: I'm a sophomore right now, and while some of my classes have been horribly hard, I know that I would not want to go anywhere else in the south hills. While the city schools are much more diverse than our mainly white and Christian school, our academics are so strong. If you are socially awkward, there are people for you (or classes for you to pound you with work). Even though the fine arts are widely under appreciated by the student body and administration especially compared to athletics, there's still tons of subculture within each department. In all, the school could be a bit more diverse, but gives us enough tools for success in the end, that is, if we ever leave Mt. Lebanon after college.

Food: I pack my lunch, but I used to get lunch at school and for school lunch food, it's pretty good. The lunch ladies are nice and with the renovation, the cafeteria is much nicer and bigger than it used to be. The cafeteria was originally three separate floors (obviously with the top floor reserved for seniors or you die) but it is now just one huge floor with tons of windows instead of a few awkward windows looking over the sadness that was center court. There is a much bigger variety of lunch foods, and food is now served for breakfast before school and snacks after school.

Administration & Policies: Administration does its best. The superintendent is legendary and constantly asks students what they want and tells them what is happening in the administration. I'm honestly not sure what the principal does. Other staff members tend to walk around with their walky-talkies and look for hall passes. Teachers don't care if you're a few minutes late to class due to the long time it takes to get to some classes with construction (and even after construction). The dress code is much more lenient than it was in middle school, but students can't get away with everything. One girl wore just a sports bra on top at school and was eventually dress coded, but it took administration until lunchtime to notice.

Sports & Fitness: I am not athletic and I therefore am barely in the athletic building (I take dance instead of gym and I do not play sports). Because of the construction, there are not tennis courts for the school but there are some down the street. School courts will be put in within a year. I am not really a fan of watching football games, but other kids really love the student section. Once, a CV girl, "Swag Jen," made fun of Mt. Lebo on twitter and the student section dressed like her at the next basketball game, which you can interpret as either hilarious or rude. All in all, the athletic building was the first building to be finished, so you can see how important sports are to the school.

Teachers: As with all schools, the teachers widely vary. Some teachers require more patience than others, and each subject has its favorites (as well as least-favorites). For example, my biology teacher loves his job and provides a wondrous learning environment for us. There are animals and plants all around the classroom and sometimes I just have full days where I appreciate all of bio. However, some other friends in biology have a teacher that they really do not like. His attempt at humor is always uncomfortable, his grading scale is weak, and he teaches them in a more confusing way that disallows them from success. Most teachers you'll get will be manageable, but the ones that are hard are royally hard.
