Nashville Community High School Reviews
Rating 3.97 out of 5 37 reviews
NCHS is a great small-town school with a heavy focus on sports. Sports is the culture of this school with many teams making trips to the state championships every couple years. Academics, however, is more on the low burner for the administration. For example, our math department has taken a real fall since my parents studied at the school. When my parents were in high school, the entire math department was dual-credit certified. Many students were able to graduate high school as well as get their Associate's degrees from their number of college credits. Whenever I entered high school, only one math teacher was dual-credit certified, and since then the teacher left and they hired a basketball coach for the math teacher and now there are no dual-credit math classes. The science department has the same situation, with no dual-credit classes available for science. I am proud to call myself a Nashville Hornet, but I cannot imagine all the opportunities that I missed out on.
Nashville High School is excellent. The food is good, the staff is kind and very good at what they do, and the extracurriculars are also wonderful. The sports teams are among the very best in their areas, the band is a big part of the school and is great, and the FFA program is one of the best in the state. There are clubs and groups for nearly every activity that you can think of. Transportation to and from the high school is also good, as the bus service in Nashville is terrific. Nashville definitely has that small-town feeling, which is also a plus. Academics are focused on, and there are many incentives given to encourage good grades.
Throughout the last almost four years I have spent at Nashville Community High School, I have a mostly good review. The teachers and administration are always there to provide assistance and guidance for your future. NCHS has academic and athletic opportunities as well. I overall have enjoyed my time spent here at Nashville Community High School, and I will miss the community and people I have grown up with.
