Parental involvement is on all levels from band to athletics to drama club. The Hawk club is very involved in our school. Our band was chosen from all the high schools in the state to attend the WWII celebration in Hawaii. This was an opportunity of a lifetime for our band members. We have some of the top 3a athletic programs in the state.

Many academic changes need to be made. Make a set number of hours available for students who find a particular subject difficult,to get some one on one instruction.

After transferring to a state boarding school and meeting other kids from different parts of North Carolina, I realized how lucky I was to go to North Buncombe. Many of the teachers are wonderful and the classes are, for most people, appropriately challenging. The food is not the best, but there is free breakfast.
