Administration & Policies: The school always change a little with each new principle, however the basics stay the same. The school gives out warning, call home, detention, ISS, OSS, expulsion, and so on. You always have those students that try and try a teacher or someone higher. Even though they know there's nothing they can do. The higher people in the school are very connected and stay in contact if needed.

Administration & Policies: The principals at the school are alright. The ones that were there in my earlier years fit the role better in my opinion. They seemed to actually care more about the students than the ones that are running the school now. There is only one guidance counselor that is just absolutely amazing. Ms. Owens, is just wonderful and dedicates all of her time to her senior students and whoever else needs someone to be there for them. In my school each grade has a dedicated principal and counselor. I've talked to all of the counselors and principals at the school and Ms. Owens is number one on my list. The best assistant principal, Mr. Digby, that was at the school transferred to another school this year. He invested interest into every student unlike the principals we have now. The bullying in the school is "heavily" enforced but it's really not. I mentor freshman and I have to defend some of them daily because they are constantly being picked on and the office claims they'll handle it but they just give the bullies a little speech of not to do it again and send them on their way. There is no sort of disciplinary action and it's just sad. The dress code has really lightened up this year due to the new principal. The attendance is strict and students need to attend all day of everyday to not be in jeopardy of failing.

Administration & Policies: I understand that our school policies are influenced by the schools around us so we deserve a 3 out of 5. There is room for some vast improvement however. Guidance counselors don't spend near enough one-on-one time with students. We are almost afraid to talk to them or take up their time and they often are not present when we need them. As someone bullied at the school for an entire year, it baffled me that it went on unnoticed for so long and none of the faculty noticed the perceptible difference in my attitude and performance. Bullying policies seem to focus upon there being proof, but to document the happenings the teachers have to be informed about each thing. This is not always possible and many verbal attacks can be embarrassing to present or difficult to elaborate upon. In dealing with my two bullies, the school basically avoided the situation by forcing me into signing a contract that did not fault either parties with blame and gave the same potential reparations for me and my aggressors. This is not acceptable to me. They should be punished for their actions regardless of the anger it may stir up with their families. Dress code rules seem to be extremely biased in my opinion, but that is pretty much ubiquitous in the US at this point.
