Northview High School Reviews
Rating 3.9 out of 5 692 reviews
Overall, Northview is a good school. It declined my senior year, but the music program, AP classes, and teachers in general were amazing. The mental health department was certainly lacking, and so was most resources in general. Definitely prepared me for college though! I do wish they pushed dual enrollment over AP classes a bit more.
My experience at Northview has been mostly great as a student. The courses taken feel like they serve the purpose of readying students for college, and a lot of them have very good teachers who are very encouraging. The more academic clubs are very well rounded and there is a large variety of them. However, the facilities are fairly mediocre, the sports are underfunded despite the large amounts of money we raise, and some classes are made incredibly difficult coupled with boring teachers. Despite this, as a student, it is one of the best schools in terms of preparing everybody for college and getting them into college.
I joined Northview High School in 2021 as a sophomore from Boston. This was the first time I ever had an in-person learning experience in the USA as I arrived here beginning of 2020. At first, it was overwhelming (such as having to meet new people and teachers and navigating around the school), but I started to fit in well due to helpful counselors and teachers. One thing I like is the wide variety of clubs and programs available. I joined "Mentorship," a program that allows us students to help out classmates with disability. I was able to help out the teachers by teaching them and aiding them with lesson plans. I did this for almost a year and it was a very enjoyable moment.
